Explaining Common Causes of Indigestion

Author: Mary Carlson

Indigestion, or incomplete digestion is a condition that grossly affects quality of life. The poor person who is plagued with indigestion never knows what food will or will not offend their "sensitive stomach."? What was okay to eat yesterday is all-wrong today.

You see it's not the food.... it's the digestive process that is all out of whack...take a look at your digestive system.

If would stop and pause for a moment before simply swallowing the "purple pill"? we might discover a few things.

Like....

How many children do know that are happy and well adjusted that have chronic digestive problems? Generally, a child has to be really anxious and upset to have a stomachache.

Am I right to stay that indigestion problems usually start surfacing around middle age or shortly before that?

Most people are very dissatisfied with their indigestion medicine regimen and are secretly depressed at the thought of having to take a medicine for the rest of their lives.

Is it too much acid production the problem...or is just the opposite true?

What Are The Factors That Lead To Chronic Indigestion?

1. Undiagnosed Heliobacter Pylori infection, which eventually leads to stomach and/or esophageal cancer.

2. Inadequate hydrochloric acid production leading to the inability to break down food and the eventual regurgitation of the "incomplete digestion"? contents of the stomach. Throwing it out it's the only thing the poor stomach can do. This can be initially confirmed by drinking two tablespoons of natural, whole apple cider vinegar in a small glass of water during an active "acid"? attack. If the "heartburn"? goes away or greatly improves then consider supplemental hydrochloric acid (HCL) tablets. HCL production decreases with normal aging, especially in some people.

3. Excessive HCL is thought to be caused by a drop in digestive enzyme production due to normal aging. When digestive enzymes are low, then the body steps up the production and release of HCL to compensate. After all, something has to break down that food. It can't leave the stomach until it's ready. What can the poor small intestine absorb? Try a digestive enzyme complex that has no HCL according to label instructions.

4. Poor liver function due to undiagnosed illness (hepatitis, gallbladder disease, Pancreatitis, etc.) The liver is a part of a digestive organ group that is responsible for the release of enzymes, essential fatty acids and bile that work together to digest food.

5. Excessive alcohol consumption greatly irritates the throat, esophagus and stomach, not to mention stress the liver. Find a better way to relax and at least test this idea for one month to let your system heal, or else. If you have ever met anyone with cancer in any of these epithelial cell lined areas you know that it is not a pretty sight...these areas are particularly vulnerable to irritation that leads to cell changes and eventually cancer. And don't forget that formaldehyde (embalming fluid) put in beer to preserve it, is a known carcinogen. Like cigarettes, it doesn't kill you immediately...

6. Consumption of sugar and starches irritates the whole digestive tract, especially in insulin resistant people. Test this idea by staying off of sugar and refined starches for one month to let your system heal and stop draining your pancreatic enzymes, which should be digesting good food. You are stripping your pancreas of critical enzymes stores that are reserved for healthy food that will preserve your health. Notice that most junk food is high in sugar and worthless starches. No wonder you get heartburn. I'd want to throw it up too! Stay off the junk!

What Else Can You Do To Assist Your Body In Healing?

1. Learn to eat more raw, enzyme rich fruits and vegetables. Build up your natural enzyme stores. You can't even digest celery without enzymes!

2. Drink one cup of tepid aloe vera juice every night before going to bed. This is a healing drink....full of healing mucopolysaccharides that restore these damaged delicate areas.

3. Avoid freezing cold drinks or blistering hot beverages. Let your system heal. Be kind to it for a while.

4. Learn to let things go. Isn't it really worth dying for? Try to avoid people that repeatedly upset you. Maybe you can't get away from them all together but at least learn to "go away"? in your mind when you are around them. Tune out toxic people.

5. Correct underlying vitamin and mineral deficiencies. This will take about six weeks, even with the correct formula.

6. Report the onset of symptoms to your doctor if you developed them during the course of a medicine regimen. Some symptoms could turn fatal if not reported.
