Can We Really Trust the Polls?

Author: Lance Winslow

Many people are concerned with the political polling that goes on around the country, in the newspapers and on the nightly TV. Personally I am not so concerned, as those are more a reflection of the mass media sound and fury barrage to insight the masses. Recently in a coffee shop, I sat down with a wealth liberal, wealthy as in Extremely wealthy, apparently as I found out later was 100 million plus range. Although you would not ever know it by his demeanor.

We got to discussing the issues with polls and the media and both had a good laugh at the expense of our friends in the media and how the general public just could not seem to get the whole picture. I told him that I did not personally care about the polls in the War in Iraq because the polls are not even in this war to a large degree. He said; ho ho, well you better not let your Mr. Bush hear that, as he told us they were part of his grand coalition!

Bob, I am not politically correct. So, I do not care that I made a comment, which might offend anyone. The point, which was made stands. "The Polish are not even in this war to any large degree." That comment stands and I refuse to be politically correct here, there is too much at stake. Poland is not in this war to a large degree, they aren't. But that is irrelevant anyway as the comment was about the Polls being completely worthless, they mean nothing to my brother on the ground their in Iraq today defending the liberty, freedom and new government. You see Bob, what someone thinks here, after watching their TV sets is immaterial and those who use such figures to promote a viewpoint to move a particular agenda do so in absurdity. I am not politically correct, nor will I succumb to the BS being purported by the opposition party, which seems to blow like the wind. Speaking of which is Kerry still sporting the wind surfing young Kennedy style image?

Bob just laughed at my comments, offered to buy me another cup of coffee introduced me to a few of the locals and bid us all a nice day, as he was leaving early in the morning on a flight to a much warmer time zone and latitude, as he explained. So think on this in 2006.
