Emergency Kit Emergency Cell Phone Charger: Hand Crank Power to Go

Author: Jay Carmichael

It is a good idea to at all times, have access to at least a basic Emergency Kit. An Emergency Kit can come in handy in many situations, and when it does come in handy, it is usually worth its weight in gold. Whether it be a power outage, a camping trip or a car problem, everyone can appreciate the value of a good Emergency Kit.

One of my favorite additions to any Emergency Kit is the Hand Crank Cell Phone Charger. This can be a life safer when needed, especially today with the cell phone being such an important part of the average persons day. Considering the constant use a Cell Phone endures everyday we can not expect to have a full Cell Phone battery when disaster strikes. A hand crank cell phone charger can give you the peace of mind that if you really did need to use your cell phone you could, even if your power is out or your car battery is dead.

To use the charger you will need to turn a crank for several minutes. Then, you are ready to make a call. The longer you turn the crank, the more power you get. On average, 3 minutes of crank time should give you enough power to make an emergency call if you are in need. While this method will not replace your wall or car charger by any means, it is a great start to a great backup plan.
